Yes the New York Giants lost to the hapless Buffalo Bills last Sunday. Yes the Giants were embarrassed when the Saints came marching in. Sanchez looked like a high school junior varsity quarterback. The Giants defense resembled the Akron Zips scout team (sorry Akron University). But is this reason to panic?
At 3-3 and with an impressive win over the Patriots the Jets still control their own destiny. The running back combination of Washington and Jones is one of the best one-two punches in the NFL. Sanchez is still a good quarterback. Not great, but JaMarcus Russell could learn a few things from this young man. And the defense is surprisingly one of the best in the league.
Everyone has a bad day. We could be talking football, chess or even a trip to the grocery store. Some days you just forget the milk, which was the reason you went in the first place. The Giants are and will be fine. Coach Tom Coughlin utilizes the strengths of his players better than most. Steve Smith can no longer be referred as the “other” Steve Smith. And Eli Manning has shown why he was given that crazy gazillion dollar contract deal…almost.
Take your finger off the panic button Giants and Jets fans. New York is still in the driver’s seat. And we aren’t even half way through the race.
