For the buckets of hating and trash talking on this blog all year the Jets somehow made the playoffs. Good for them. On paper they have a solid shot at winning the next few weeks. Tell me who has a better running game? I know it’s a team sport, but if you haven’t been paying attention Darelle Revis is downright dirty. The whole defense is. All Sanchez needs to do is be smart with the football and the Jets could surprise some teams. What does a dirty defense and an effective Mark Sanchez equal? A Dirty Sanchez. No one likes to play a Dirty Sanchez in the playoffs.

As a Giants fan, though, I feel like I’ve been robbed. For years the Giants formula for success was a solid running game and defense. Run, run, pass; hit the tight end on a play action. This year the Jets stole our winning formula. Ok, maybe they didn’t steal anything and I am just jealous. I can admit that. (Fun fact of the day—the New York Giants’ defense was the third worst in the league in points allowed) Watching the last few Giants games hurt my eyes, brain and my soul. But last night I had some Chicken Soup in the form of delicious corn chips for my beaten soul.

The underdog Boise State Broncos defeated the TCU Horned Frogs in the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl in a game most assumed they would lose. Heard that before? If you haven’t go buy the Fiesta Bowl from 2007 on DVD. You’ll thank me later. And iTunes is streaming last night’s game. Go watch it. You’ll thank me later. I would like to thank Idaho for giving me a great year of college football and potatoes. Usually mashed, sometimes baked, sometimes twice, but always good.
