Broadway revival, A Little Night Music may not close after all. June 20th was the date the broadway hit was supposed to close but now with talks for Tony Award winners, Bernadette Peters and Elaine Stritch…the show must go on.
Peters & Stritch are said to replace Catherine Zeta-Jones and Angela Lansbury in the roles of ‘Desiree Armfeldt’ and ‘Madame Armfeldt,’ respectively.
We are waiting an official announcement that A Little Night Music will continue beyond the June 20th “closing date”
A Little Night Music opened at the Walter Kerr Theatre on 13 Dec 2009, following previews from 24 Nov 2010 and is nominated for four 2010 Tony Awards including Best Revival of a Musical, Best Performance by a Leading Actress in a Musical (Catherine Zeta-Jones), Best Performance by a Featured Actress in a Musical (Angela Lansbury) and Best Sound Design of a Musical (Dan Moses Schreier & Gareth Owen).
A Little Night Music - Music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim, book by Hugh Wheeler – is set in turn-of-the-century Sweden where affairs of the heart are uppermost in everyone’s thoughts. The story centres on the passionate liaisons between four couples over a midsummer weekend.
